The first time you come to a worship service at Lakeside Fellowship you may enjoy the music and the message, but will you be known? Will you be able to share your needs or burdens with anyone? Probably not. Will it be because our church body was unloving or insensitive? We hope not! It is probably because the greater the number of people gathered together into one group, the less they are able to know each other. Conversely, the fewer the people in a gathering, the more they can know each other personally. This is the role that a small group can play in your Christian growth.
What is a small group?
A Christian small group is an intentional, face to face gathering of 3 to 13 adults meeting regularly for the common purpose of exploring and growing in all the possibilities of life in Christ.
So what is the purpose of a small group?
Our small group ministry exists so you might experience caring, nurturing relationships within our church community and that each group member might know Christ, grow in Christ, and go in Christ’s name to others outside the group.
Don’t take our word for it!
Here’s what others have said about the small groups at Lakeside:
"Small groups are a great way to get connected with other Christians on a more intimate level outside of the normal ‘church scene’. Also a great place to encourage each other that we are not alone in our daily struggles with the busyness of life." - Dave
"I know God has used our small group nights to cultivate a desire for spiritual growth and accountability in me. The bond that I have enjoyed with this group has been amazing as we have learned to bear each other’s burdens, pray, and encourage each other weekly." - Danielle
"Having a group of men keeping me accountable of my actions keeps me on my toes when I’m tempted to sin." - Nathan
"It has encouraged me and yet challenged me in my walk with the Lord. It is awesome to unload with the ladies who can very much understand what is going on with life, in a very safe environment." - Sara
"It’s not about attending…its about belonging to something very special. It has addressed the nitty gritty of my Christian walk." - Jon
